TESTDRIVE #1

There's a number of ways it could happen, but regardless you find yourself standing on the outskirts of a city. A beautiful city, as familiar to you as any from your world, with all manner of buildings within sight. A sign on the side of the road greets you, saying WELCOME TO COBA You're already part of the family! It's practically inviting you to step into the city limits. Why don't you? As soon as you do, you'll find a pamphlet in your hand, almost eager to tell you all about what this mysterious Coba has to offer. And eager seems to be the impression you get about almost everything - the sun seems to brighten, the flowers seem to perk up - it's almost as if everything about Coba is welcoming you as an honored guest. And you are. Though hopefully, only temporarily. Coba would love nothing more for you to become an honored member of her precious community. Welcome to Coba, visitor, and we hope you enjoy your stay! Please read the FAQ before commenting! ♥ Welcome to the City of Coba Testdrive! Your character has found themselves in Coba, and are welcome to do any of the following: ● As you enter the city, you hear some bustle about a homecoming party! Following the signs will find yourself at a plaza with food, drink and live music, of all sorts and types. Why don't you stay awhile and indulge? ● Or, if you're not the party type, maybe you'd like to check out the city's cultural center! There's art, books, and other things to keep your mind occupied. And, maybe you'll meet other like-minded people there. ● Not in the mood for any of the above? There's always the beach! It's a lovely day, the waves are beautiful and the stores along the boardwalk all have signs up that read "TAKE WHAT YOU NEED". Maybe you need a surf board. ● Or maybe you have something else you want to do? Go for it! You're more than welcome to come up with your own prompts. In addition to the above, we would love to encourage anyone taking part in the testdrive to world build with us! Whether it be a street name or an entire neighborhood, whatever you come up with will become part of the game's canon. All we ask is that you pop over here to link us so we can see what you've done! Finally, ENJOY YOURSELVES. Seriously, this is meant to be a laid back, enjoyable game. We welcome any questions, critiques, and ideas, so always feel welcome to approach us about any and everything. We hope you decide to stay here in Coba! |

[He might look familiar, and he might not, but there's a tall boy in a black jacket, sleeves rolled up to his elbows and collar thoroughly popped, staring at her from a little further up the boardwalk, holding a freshly purchased pair of loud, floral-patterned board shorts in one hand.]

[She's replied before she's thought things through. This isn't Tsukigata where everyone knows her by now but it's nothing strange to hear her name called by random people.
Her High Pixie at least has more to say straight off the bat.]
That's a loud pattern!

Do you like them?
[The question's addressed directly to Pixie, with an apologetic, 'hold on a moment' glance shot at Nagi. he's confident she'll understand.]
no subject
They're definitely eye-catching if that's what you're going for.
no subject
[He turns politely back to Nagi, smile flickering a moment, and bows politely.]
Hi. I'm sorry this is a little awkward, but... I'm Seta Souji, and in an alternate timeline, you and I were friends.
no subject
Forgive me, I was surprised! I--
[A few seconds of silence pass as Nagi straightens back up and looks sheepish. One hand drifts to tug at one of her front curls.]
You already know my name.
[The Pixie now floating around seems pleased.]
Eeeh, friends? Really?
[The people of Tsukigata were friendly to the young Summoner but one couldn't call them friends really. Raidou bore a closer resemblance to the title but even he Nagi viewed more comrade and teacher than not.
The High Pixie takes a loop or two around Souji, then claps her hands together.]
Good job, Nagi, good job! You've got a friend and he's good looking!
Pixie, please.
Well it's true!
no subject
[He's flushing slightly, bust smiling.]
Nagi... I wouldn't presume anything based on that friendship alone. I know it has to be strange not knowing me at all, and there might be differences between you and the Nagi I remember. But... I know enough to say I'd like to get to know you, if that's all right, and that I think you and I have a lot in common.

So she accepted the idea with little chagrin. There were questions of course - what the timeline was like, how they had met and such. At the present moment though it didn't seem right to pry so deeply so quickly. And beyond that, it was simply someone asking for her friendship.
So in the end the teenager smiles. Friends, of all things!]
I will do what I can then, Souji-san. I hope in time I prove a good friend to you.
[Though she doesn't wish to pry just yet, there was one topic though she has to sate her curiosity on.]
You can see my Pixie.
It's nice to be acknowledged for once.

[He always messes up this explanation.]
Fairies and gods and some other weird guys from inside my head, or anyway, parts of my head that look and act like them.
no subject
They are aspects of yourself then?

[Oh!]
Forgive me, I'm asking too many questions.
[She doesn't precisely want to grill the poor guy like she had done Raidou in the beginning. Instead her Pixie pipes up with her own question.]
Are you going to go play in the ocean?

Your house came with you...?
[... Was his house a demon?]

Past the back yard was somewhere else, too, but I couldn't see over the fence.

What were the first two then?
[Ah, beaten to it.]

[He's smiling mildly as he says it, bald-faced and blunt, without any regard for just how crazy it sounds.]
no subject
... Oh.
[The Pixie meanwhile is definitely at attention now.]
Eeeeh. Those both sound like some serious situations!
no subject
[But he doesn't exactly sound bothered about them, either.]
