TESTDRIVE #1

There's a number of ways it could happen, but regardless you find yourself standing on the outskirts of a city. A beautiful city, as familiar to you as any from your world, with all manner of buildings within sight. A sign on the side of the road greets you, saying WELCOME TO COBA You're already part of the family! It's practically inviting you to step into the city limits. Why don't you? As soon as you do, you'll find a pamphlet in your hand, almost eager to tell you all about what this mysterious Coba has to offer. And eager seems to be the impression you get about almost everything - the sun seems to brighten, the flowers seem to perk up - it's almost as if everything about Coba is welcoming you as an honored guest. And you are. Though hopefully, only temporarily. Coba would love nothing more for you to become an honored member of her precious community. Welcome to Coba, visitor, and we hope you enjoy your stay! Please read the FAQ before commenting! ♥ Welcome to the City of Coba Testdrive! Your character has found themselves in Coba, and are welcome to do any of the following: ● As you enter the city, you hear some bustle about a homecoming party! Following the signs will find yourself at a plaza with food, drink and live music, of all sorts and types. Why don't you stay awhile and indulge? ● Or, if you're not the party type, maybe you'd like to check out the city's cultural center! There's art, books, and other things to keep your mind occupied. And, maybe you'll meet other like-minded people there. ● Not in the mood for any of the above? There's always the beach! It's a lovely day, the waves are beautiful and the stores along the boardwalk all have signs up that read "TAKE WHAT YOU NEED". Maybe you need a surf board. ● Or maybe you have something else you want to do? Go for it! You're more than welcome to come up with your own prompts. In addition to the above, we would love to encourage anyone taking part in the testdrive to world build with us! Whether it be a street name or an entire neighborhood, whatever you come up with will become part of the game's canon. All we ask is that you pop over here to link us so we can see what you've done! Finally, ENJOY YOURSELVES. Seriously, this is meant to be a laid back, enjoyable game. We welcome any questions, critiques, and ideas, so always feel welcome to approach us about any and everything. We hope you decide to stay here in Coba! |

I will do so. Gladly.
[Well, as near as this kid can come to 'glad'; despite her words I don't think she's gotten that far in emotional growth yet. Nevertheless...her hands resume, and the motion is just slightly different from before. 'Enthusiastic' isn't the right word, as it implies vigor, and there isn't quite much more of that...so much as there's a bit more strength, a touch of extra firmness and certainty in the way she handles your skin and muscle. And though it may be contradictory at first glance, there is more care as well.
Again, as near as she can come to genuine care, but she gets surprisingly close when she wants to.][She will continue quietly, for a time.]

Is this something you do regularly?
no subject
...it is a pleasant realization.

Shooter really wanted to touch her?nah I'm not quite that terrible. But at the same time, this still is a weird thing to do instinctively. She just isn't... going to say that...]As long as you don't dislike it, that is what is important.
Gotta run off to bed after this one but *thank you so much* it is great fun. ^_^
[actually for all any of us knows that's exactly what it was.][...for the most part, I kid too, but I really think Shooter just - seriously - kind of instantly took a shine to Patchouli, despite the only place she could've recognized her from is that one meme thread, since they haven't encountered each other in Bastion and that personality would qualify as a different incarnation. ENOUGH OOC, THO - time to get back to the show!]No, [she says again, but the tone is very different. She's surprised by the suggestion, perhaps even a touch astonished - it's a curious degree of emotion she's put into a single word.]
Dislike? [And she shakes her head at that.] Not at all.
This pleases me.
[Assuring, and reassuring.]
[And of course the massage is still going on, but the touch changes yet again - though only slightly, this time. A feeling of smoothness and grace, making the tracing of Shooter's fingers almost a caress at some intervals.]
Not a problem! (I should... actually add you on plurk oops)
Though, I don't think you gave me your name. [She wonders briefly if the mysterious stranger even has one or uses one. She seems so distant and... really, her eyes seem to be the only semblance of color to her...]
Taken care of, mate. :D
[...but now we've come to the subject of her name, and there might be just a slight hesitation. Fingers still working, but now she's taken a turn for the contemplative. Names that are 'hers'...several have drifted in and out of her memory, and the catalyst for each has always been another identity entirely. Certainly, she could give her origin name...but for the first time, perhaps, she feels a touch of uncertainty conveying it. Self-consciousness, perhaps. Would you find it displeasing? Perhaps even droll...?]
Black Rock Shooter.
[... ...]
...though, perhaps I will let you name me later.
[...is she serious, or...?]
Thank you!
That other part, though...]
... name you? You're quite the strange lady, aren't you.
My name is Patchouli, by the way.
^^ [/2]
But not of my own accord, [she adds.] They happen to me. Gifts from others.
I would be willing to extend that privilege to you.
[2/3] Quite welcome you are, mate. :3
all the same, isn't she tired yet?]Patchouli. ...An herb. One of two varieties to grow on Earth.
It has a distinct smell.
[3/3]
no subject
[... she takes a moment to take that other thing in.]
Two? I guess some terrible things happened to Earth since my departure...
[Might explain why Shooter has like. no color whatsoever.
That... last thing surprises her a lot.]
Um... I don't know, really.
[/2?] (also wow all my redundancies up there, so sorry BD;; )
I shall keep it for now, but I do not think it is meant for me. Nonetheless, I will accept it as your gift.
[well geez, Shooter. you did make a point of offering, after all.]
no subject
[the hands stop again.]
I wish to learn.
no subject
I might be able to help you.
What would you like to learn?
no subject
Your scent.
no subject
... I see.
Hm... I don't see why you can't investigate that, though.
[/2]
If it's her idea to be otherwise, that's one thing, but if it's not - good luck. "I Do What I Want" is pretty much the thing.]I required your permission.
no subject
No. I desired it.
Perhaps I could have taken...but I did not want to do that. In your case, I much prefer your approval.
[well, isn't that a frank admission.]
no subject
Very well. You have my approval, then. You may proceed.
[/?]
[even Shooter's surprised that the greenlight came so easily. Surprised enough...that even with the approval given, she hesitates. Her hands start to leave Patchy's shoulders, but slowly; they move back, then go down just a bit lower...then stop, and come apart, no longer technically touching Patch at all. She doesn't seem to know what to do.]
[It doesn't last.]
sloppy purple prose ahoooy and [2/3] I think
[she breathes, quietly and long...]
[and it leaves just as leisurely.]
[She moves lower, her nose just barely above the surface of Patchouli's hair. Again, the breath comes - and this time she's moving with it, following the trail downward.]
[now, down to her shoulder, though carefully - and deliberately farther and lower from where she'd been kneading. Shooter wanted Patchouli's scent, after all, not mixed with her own.
NOT YET ANYWAY /SHOT][This time, there's less hesitation. It's not a rough or brutish motion by any measure; still gentle, uncharacteristically so, even now...but she presses her nose, indeed much of her face, into the fabric of her attire. This time, it's not so subtle: it's a quicker, audibly deep breath. Not exaggerated, despite that: just...matter of fact. I'm breathing, and I'm breathing in you, and this is what I want.]
[3/3] so actually yes, Patch, this *was* in fact meant very literally.
[...your neck...yes, she moves there now too. and just as with your clothing, it is not disguised, not subtle, but nor is it course or too quick. careful now, careful speed...her skin against yours, though her lips are touching more of you than her nose. and that's actually coincidence, if you can believe it; there's no kiss, no sudden affection. we're still just breathing in you. she wants your scent; that's what this is about. cloth...hair...and now skin.]
[and she breathes.]
[and she relaxes.]
[settling against Patchouli, but only enough, just enough to be felt. her eyes, if you can see them...they are closed. and the face she wears? oddly content.]
[how's that for an experience.]
no subject
is... not sure how to respond to that... Give her a few seconds.
Okay. Okay. Finally she manages something.]
You're quite thorough, I see.
[It's the best she can come up with on short notice, okay.]
/SLAMS THIS DOWN
[and then she really does kiss your neck this time. a single kiss, leaning forward just so: a light, soft, drawn-out affair.]
