There's a number of ways it could happen, but regardless you find yourself standing on the outskirts of a city. A beautiful city, as familiar to you as any from your world, with all manner of buildings within sight. A sign on the side of the road greets you, saying WELCOME TO COBA You're already part of the family! It's practically inviting you to step into the city limits. Why don't you? As soon as you do, you'll find a pamphlet in your hand, almost eager to tell you all about what this mysterious Coba has to offer. And eager seems to be the impression you get about almost everything - the sun seems to brighten, the flowers seem to perk up - it's almost as if everything about Coba is welcoming you as an honored guest. And you are. Though hopefully, only temporarily. Coba would love nothing more for you to become an honored member of her precious community. Welcome to Coba, visitor, and we hope you enjoy your stay! Your character has found themselves in Coba, and are welcome to do any of the following: ● As you enter the city, you hear some bustle about a homecoming party! Following the signs will find yourself at a plaza with food, drink and live music, of all sorts and types. Why don't you stay awhile and indulge? ● Or, if you're not the party type, maybe you'd like to check out the city's cultural center! There's art, books, and other things to keep your mind occupied. And, maybe you'll meet other like-minded people there. ● Not in the mood for any of the above? There's always the beach! It's a lovely day, the waves are beautiful and the stores along the boardwalk all have signs up that read "TAKE WHAT YOU NEED". Maybe you need a surf board. ● Or maybe you have something else you want to do? Go for it! You're more than welcome to come up with your own prompts. In addition to the above, we would love to encourage anyone taking part in the testdrive to world build with us! Whether it be a street name or an entire neighborhood, whatever you come up with will become part of the game's canon. All we ask is that you pop over here to link us so we can see what you've done! Rise's trying to think positively about her experiences over the last six months. For example, a tattooed topless woman with a horn coming out the back of her neck is no longer the weirdest thing she's scene, nor the most sexual.

"Uh, hey!" she calls out by way of greeting, hesitating for a second since she's not sure what to go with next. "Is the water cold, or...?"

Wow. You look... normal. Too normal to be talking to her, in fact. Excuse Shura staring with amber eyes before she finally answers.

"It's fine, I just. I don't know how to swim."

"Oh, well you don't have to worry about that too much unless you get out to far," Rise says. "Just getting wet shouldn't be a problem."

She stops and thinks for a moment. "Do you mind if I ask where you're from?"

Mars, maybe? It really wouldn't surprise her anymore.

Shura is embarrased now, lowering her head and scratching the horn on the back of her neck. "I'm too scared of being swept by the current and drowning to try..."

Shura looked confused by the question as she looks at Rise. How to explain? "I come from the void between the different universes in the all-encompassing Amala Universe." Then, because the girl looks quite Japanese to her despite the dyed hair, "... I was born in Tokyo, though."

Rise was going to go into a reassuring speech for a second there, but for the moment she's just staring blankly at the answer. That was a new one even for her.

"The void...okay..."

She perks back up after a second, though, since there's something familiar to latch onto at the end. "Oh, Tokyo! Yeah, I'm Japanese myself, but I was born out in the countryside. I spent a lot of time in Tokyo filming TV spots and performing, though..."

Of course, now the full implications of Tokyo -> void whatever -> yellow eyes and a neck spike are confusing her even more, but backing down from the conversation now would just be rude.

Oh good, she knows about Tokyo in Japan. Shura gave the girl a small smile. "Performing? Are you a singer? Should I know you?" Shura's contact with famous musicians and bands had come mostly from Isamu thanks to being a track athlete in her days, so maybe she should have known this girl before the world went crazy...

Don't worry too much, though, Rise, because the full implication of that also makes Shura's mind reel.

"Well, depending on when you left for that...other place you said, you might have heard of Risette," she admits. "That's my once and future stage name. You can call me Rise, though, or Kujikawa if you want to be formal."

She thinks for a second, tapping her lips. "Actually, apparently there are worlds out there that are totally different, so I might not have existed in your Japan. The point is I've been an idol singer."

[demimaudite]

"Risette..." Shura thinks for a moment. "I don't think I've heard of an idol named Risette... but the world ended in 2000 for me. Even if a version of you was born in my universe, she didn't escape the destruction."

"The world ended in 2000? Yeah, I was about five...seriously, what's with all these other worlds coming to an end?" she wonders. "It's kind of depressing..."
