There's a number of ways it could happen, but regardless you find yourself standing on the outskirts of a city. A beautiful city, as familiar to you as any from your world, with all manner of buildings within sight. A sign on the side of the road greets you, saying WELCOME TO COBA You're already part of the family! It's practically inviting you to step into the city limits. Why don't you? As soon as you do, you'll find a pamphlet in your hand, almost eager to tell you all about what this mysterious Coba has to offer. And eager seems to be the impression you get about almost everything - the sun seems to brighten, the flowers seem to perk up - it's almost as if everything about Coba is welcoming you as an honored guest. And you are. Though hopefully, only temporarily. Coba would love nothing more for you to become an honored member of her precious community. Welcome to Coba, visitor, and we hope you enjoy your stay! Your character has found themselves in Coba, and are welcome to do any of the following: ● As you enter the city, you hear some bustle about a homecoming party! Following the signs will find yourself at a plaza with food, drink and live music, of all sorts and types. Why don't you stay awhile and indulge? ● Or, if you're not the party type, maybe you'd like to check out the city's cultural center! There's art, books, and other things to keep your mind occupied. And, maybe you'll meet other like-minded people there. ● Not in the mood for any of the above? There's always the beach! It's a lovely day, the waves are beautiful and the stores along the boardwalk all have signs up that read "TAKE WHAT YOU NEED". Maybe you need a surf board. ● Or maybe you have something else you want to do? Go for it! You're more than welcome to come up with your own prompts. In addition to the above, we would love to encourage anyone taking part in the testdrive to world build with us! Whether it be a street name or an entire neighborhood, whatever you come up with will become part of the game's canon. All we ask is that you pop over here to link us so we can see what you've done! I can promise you that you aren't missing a damn thing. They're about as fun as you'd think they are.

Can't beat New Orleans for a party anyway.

I don't know about that, but New Orleans does know how to throw one hell of a party, I'll give it that.

[bongos]

Never been anywhere else, really. At least nowhere worth talking about. [A quick shrug and she drains her glass.]

Nowhere at all? C'mon, you've got to get out into the world and travel a little!

[bongos]

Not much chance of that happening. [Given she's pretty sure she can't even go home now.]

Got caught up in some shit at home, wound up paying the price for it. Now I'm here.

Huh. [there isn't much to say that isn't prying, and he isn't sure he's in the prying mood. So instead he gestures over to the drinks, and to the bottle of bourbon he'd gotten into almost immediately]

Then you want to be drinking from that, and not from whatever you have.

I'm more of a beer girl, to be honest. Not that alcohol has any effect, anyway. [But it's better than nothing.

And that looks like the stuff Elijah's always drinking.]

That'll have an effect, but that's all the tempting I'll do. If you're a beer girl, then you're a beer girl.

[although, no effect? Hmm]

Maybe that's why Elijah drinks it so much. [Considering his family, she can't really blame him, either. ]

Worth a shot, then.

Has he resorted to drinking his problems away?

No idea what he's doing now.

Last time I saw him, it didn't end well. [Fucking Klaus]

You mean to tell me something didn't go right involving the Original family? Say it isn't so.

Elijah's not that bad.

Klaus on the other hand...

We don't talk about him. If you say his name three times he shows up and things go to hell and I really don't want to see his stupid face, thank you.

Elijah I could live with. Maybe.

[bongos]

Not sure Elijah's too fond of at the moment, given the look on his face when I saw him last, but who knows.

How do you know them?

[bloodymess]

That's a surprise. [except for where it's not]

It's a long story, about curses and doppelgangers and annoying Originals showing up every five minutes to make our lives hell.

[bongos]

[Color her curious since she knew next to nothing of Elijah's past. ]

I'm sure it's not nearly as interesting as what the ol' Mikaelsons have been up to since they left Mystic Falls.

[bongos]

Family infighting, their bitch of a mother and brother Finn trying to convert them to their side, and then their aunt showed up. Apparently Klaus's daughter was promised to her a thousand years ago.

And that's the short version.

[bloodymess]

What? What do you mean, Kaus' daughter?

[bongos]

Yeah, he has a baby girl.

She's pretty cute, actually, what I got to see of her.

[bloodymess]

So she's getting all the looks from the mom's side, that's a relief.

But uh, I'm 100% sure that shouldn't be possible. 120%, even.

[bongos]

Too early to tell.

No idea how it happened. I came in about three months after she was born though. Didn't even know she existed till recently.

[bloodymess]

I'm holding out hope, because that kid's damned seven ways to hell anyway.

[that's . . . interesting. And also a little disturbing. He takes a long drink] Who's the mother?
