What: WISHING WELL(s?)

At some point during the night a wishing well appeared in the corner, maybe it was a garbage can a second ago and you saw it blur, maybe it was a fire hydrant, maybe you just hadn't seen it before, but there it is!

There's a sign next to it reading: "Toss a coin, make a wish!"
(WISHES NOT GUARANTEED TO COME TRUE)

Maybe you don't have a coin, but Coba's got your back; there's a pail full of coins next to the well.

So go on, make a wish. Or spy on other people making wishes (Or steal the coins). Surely nothing can possibly go wrong.

[In his walk around the town- he's still getting used to this place (he kind of likes it- no Hinatas or Kageyamas or any loud, nosy, obnoxious people YET) he spots the well. A wishing well. With hands in his pockets, he edges towards it, giving it almost an evil eye.

Then he snorts-]

I can't understand why people believe in such things.

Why not? It's not like it's hurting anyone.

[tsooki]

It gets people's hopes up and when nothing happens they act as if world ended. So they come back to these things 'just in case'. It's waste of time.

[keymash]

I don't think anyone actually believes their wishes will come true. Even in a weird place like this.

But having hope makes all the difference.

[tsooki]

[Tsukishima's hands slip into fists in his pockets.]

That kind of hope is easily smashed. It's ridiculous to even have any.

[keymash]

Well . . . yeah. Maybe it is. But hope kind of makes you a better person, even when it hurts. If you don't hope and try, then what's the point?

Is it really living if you're just protecting yourself?

[tsooki]

I'd rather rely on what I see and know instead on some wishy-washy feeling of hope.

I needn't more disappointments.

[keymash]

[ Peter can understand on some level, but he can't give in anymore ]

Does it work?

[tsooki]

[Don't worry, it's Tsukishima that has unbelievable trust issues.]

For now it hasn't failed me.

[keymash]

Sounds like a tough line to walk.

[tsooki]

That depends.

[And it's kind of the only road he knows how to walk on.]

[keymash]

On what?

[tsooki]

On what type of person you are. Naive people can't even see it, less walk on it.

[And he has to deal with handful of such people every day.]

Aren't naive people easier? I mean, everything's kind of out in the open right? No real deception there.

[tsooki]

Oh, they are easy to read like a book. But they tend to believe in all kinds of c-[-rap, language Tsukki, language,]... stuff. And sometimes they hold onto that like it's a life line even if it's obvious as day that it's wrong.

[keymash]

Uh-huh. Sounds rough.

[ said somewhat dryly ]

[tsooki]

[Tsukishima says nothing. He has no energy to convince others to see his way because he knows he won't succeed. So he'll just stare at the wishing well.]

[keymash]

Well, I'm sure you can handle it.

[tsooki]

[He shrugs-]

Well I managed until now. No big deal.

[keymash]
