Maybe you stayed in Coba, maybe you went home and came back, or maybe this is your first time here, but everyone is suddenly greeted to a friendly, female voice over an intercom (or maybe it's a some other device? Depending on where you're from)

"Welcome citizens. We hope you're enjoying your visit! Transport will leave in twenty minutes for the Coba city-wide tour!"

If you follow the voice, you'll find yourself at a bus stop. Or is it a fancy monorail? A carriage? A couple of horses? Coba is flexible and will change herself to suit you, after all. And if you get left behind, don't worry! There's free cabs anywhere in the city, who also will be more than happy to give you their own version of the tour.

The Coba city-wide tour boasts an hour of informative information regarding Coba's most important locations, some extra brochures (with some extra savings in there, of course), and will finally return you to the place you left from.

Of course, maybe the tour isn't for you. After all, the party is still going on, and now Coba's businesses are really beginning to open and advertise what they have to offer. Have you checked out the free hotel room? Or maybe you're grabbing a free meal? Or maybe, just maybe - you're looking into an apartment!

Either way, Coba hopes you've been enjoying yourselves. She has so much to offer you.

It's a special place located between dimensions. I was stuck there for a couple of years way back.

"Well... I suppose I can't complain about the hospitality so far... but we'll need to find everyone. As quickly as we can."

[he glances sidelong at Aiden and can't help but grin at the laugh. That was a good sound]

Yeah. You know, whatever wolves do in their spare time when there isn't impending doom around the corner?

Chie almost doesn't recognize him - the difference in appearance between this Souji and the one she knows from Demeleier is enough that she questions, for a moment, whether it really is Souji or just someone who looks like him, some other young man with unusually grey hair. But no - she squints, studying the way he stands, the way he carries himself. It has to be him.

"... Souji-kun?" A puzzles scowl appears on her face as she inquires to confirm his identity. If it is him, why does he look so different? "Is that you?"

"Oh!" Chie jumped, startled at the sound of the other girl's voice, then laughed sheepishly. "Sorry, I didn't see you there." A friendly smile quickly flashed across her face. "I guess I am pretty lost. Could you tell me where I am?"

Chie lets out a sigh of relief as they enter the shop, jitters of panic slowly subsiding. It's been five months since she's seen Inaba, and even a look-alike of the Tatsumi shop is an almost overwhelming comfort for her. She drops her head, squeezes her eyes shut, takes a deep breath, grounding herself in the familiarity of her surroundings, then looks back up to Kanji.

"So ... you didn't come here from Inaba, you were somewhere else." The reiteration is more for her benefit than Kanji's, a way of helping her confused brain slide together the pieces into a coherent picture. "Where's Atia? And how did you end up there?"

"I assume Blissers are your term for demons? Or incubi and succubi, specifically?"

I know that.

[How does he explain the concept of a recording...]

"According to signs and locals, you're in the city of Coba," Orias explains.

"From what I've seen so far, the city tends to shift its... time period, I suppose, based on what the people inside it expect to encounter. Which leads to oddities and sudden shifts when two people expect different things."

That would explain why the forest was suddenly gone. But why? In Demeleier, they'd all been spirited away by faeries; that much was known, if not the specific reasons. But who would want to take her to a city such as this, and for what purpose?

"So ... where did you come from? Who else is here?" And Chie can't help smiling through her apparent puzzlement at Naoto's expressed happiness. "Thanks, Naoto-kun - it's good to see you too."

It tends to do that. I've even seen cars shift into horse-drawn carriages, when making an animal from a vehicle ought to be impossible.

"You probably wouldn't know the name of the town unless you frequent the demon world."

Which, based on her reaction, he guessed she didn't travel there at all.

"Is it really that scandalous?"

He shakes his head. "I'm afraid not. It sounds familiar, however-"

Oh, he'd just heard someone mention it earlier today in conversation. "Ah. I did speak to someone from there, however. Named Kanji, bleached hair, imposing build?"

Not someone I know personally, but I've seen models and such with horns twice the size of mine, at least.

[It's a Thing among demons.]

[sweeps his thumb over the line of Jim's neck]

We've seen it isn't necessarily so.

[gives the melted-Khan face a pointed look]

"Coba? I've never heard of it ... " She frowns, thinking back to her geography studies, searching for any shred of remembrance, but finds nothing. His next explanation is even more puzzling - she's seen some weird things, even before her stay in Demeleier, but a city can't just change on it's own, right?

"Sudden shifts? Wh-what do you mean?"

"How to explain it... If I'm on a bus, and someone from the early 20th century climbs on, I might suddenly be on a streetcar instead."

It's difficult to describe in a believable way.

I sorta got trained to think critically about everything. Entrance exams, man. They'll wreck your brain.

Models...? That makes it sound like you're talking about bodies like cars. Can you switch which body you're in?

No, no. Don't humans have models? On magazines?

[He means the pretty people kind.]

[He was trying to get an answer as to what Orias was, but since that's only led to him implying he wasn't human (which was obvious from the start), Hibiki decides it's best to just be direct.]

Oh, yeah, we do. I wasn't thinking of those. What are you if you're not human?

[Direct is usually the best method anyway.]

I'm an incubus. Nice to meet you.

[He knows what an incubus is, but he hadn't run across one during any of his trials ~~because they had to maintain that T rating somehow~~, so Orias is now the current standard for all incubi. He's also going to assume that...Orias is an SMT style demon, because he hasn't had any other exposure.]

I'm a Hibiki. Nice to meet you, too. Huh, I didn't know demons had magazines. [The world of demons was so much stranger than just the auctions...]
