WHEN: Day 4, noon and onwards

Wherever you are, whatever you are doing, you find the scenery in front of you suddenly shifting, the world turning into a giant blur for all of a few seconds. You might feel a bit of vertigo, but nothing too serious, especially if you've been here for long enough to get used to it.

When it returns to normal, you might find that some places have moved, others have popped up in their place. An entire neighborhood blending into part of a busy city street, for example, or a foreign shopping district where some of Coba's smaller shops once stood.

Main street, where all the excitement happens, has gone over something of a change as well. There are a number of small, vendor stalls scattered down the road, all advertising something different - EDUCATION, HOUSING, EMPLOYMENT . . . and one labeled COBASPIRACIES that the other vendors seem to be shooting dirty looks at.

Er. In any case, come see what the excitement is all about, explore the new and moved locations, or grab some of the free food that has been happily placed out for anyone wandering down main street.

(There'll be a few NPC top levels, but feel free to make your own! There's also this post for if/when you decide to place a location somewhere! Have fun. ♥)

[AND THEN THERE'S THIS ASS. A manic-looking guy who can't be over 30, handing out posters reading "THE TRUTH IS OUT THERE" and "LOOK FOR THE SIGNS" his booth is painted camo and he has tiny alien figurines which he is ALSO giving away.

... there's a pile of neglected flyers in the corner with the metro system map and bus schedule. BUT WHO CARES WHEN THERE'S ALIENS???]

[ Bernard looks at one of the figures he's been handed, and takes a bite out of it. Blech. He spits it out and looks at the person who just handed it to him]

I thought this was candy! Where's the candy?

[ he stares at Bernard, maybe a little dazed. The reaches under the booth and takes out a box with lifesavers. And very slowly holds out a packet to him ]

Aaaare you interested in... conspiracies?

[ Attempting to snatch the lifesavers! Because candy. Who wouldn't want candy? ]

Yeah yeah, conspiracies. I hear you.

[ Bernard can have the candy. Free candy for potential conspiracy friends. ]

The government cover up of the alien influence in human history?

[ He's munching the lifesavers with much gusto -- and oh yes, conspiracy talk. ]

God no, give me something that isn't from the seventies. I've read too many tales about how the antikythera mechanism predicts the end of the world.

I thought Everyone knew the antikythera is a clock deviced to measure the time between Reptilian spaceship landings.

[Yeeeeeep, he's here, bent down to look over the figures and the poster and...just about everything that the booth has to offer. It's hard to say how he's feeling about all the stuff, though, since he's maintaining a very neutral expression the entire time.

...Right up until the part where he encounters the abandoned transportation information, at which point he stands up straight and points to the bus schedule.]

Nuh uh. No way. That's nothing but a lie.

Shhh! They'll hear you!

[He jabs the bus schedule.]

I want them to hear me! That bus does not come every fifteen minutes, because I waited twenty-two minutes for it yesterday. This is a sham, and they should be ashamed.

[Leans closer, gesturing at him to quiet down, speaking in an urgent stage whisper.]

We don't talk about the traffic delays! It's forbidden! Those who dare are taken elsewhere.

[GASP. And then ANOTHER GASP before leaning closer as well and also replying in a stage whisper.]

By who? The same people as [DRAMATIC PAUSE] them? The bus-waiter-snatchers?

They're in league with the subway-waiter-snatchers. They must never know you know.

Either way, she's going to try to inch towards the metro filers and get one of those maps while trying to avoid the whole alien talking weirdo.

... Even if some of the stuff that she's been through would make his theories sound sane. It still probably wasn't if it was coming from him. ]
