WHO: Yuya and you!
WHERE: A store somewhere
TIME: Day 9
DESCRIPTION: Shopping is hard, especially when you're dead broke.
[One minute he's being locked into a jail cell, then when he turns around he's suddenly in an open city holding a pamphlet that definitely wasn't in his hands a minute ago. It takes some staring at the pamphlet and a little time spent making sure he's not dreaming (pinching, running around to work up a sweat, various failed attempts to scare himself, and so on) before he accepts that this is real...
And that maybe this could be an opportunity?
So it's not too long before he's hanging around the first shop he finds, checking out the hairpins and trying to look A) like he knows what in the world he's doing looking at hairpins and B) innocent, like he's not hoping to take up lock-picking based on vague memories of movies he's seen and the faint hope that any attempts at lock-picking will actually work.
It's not working very well, and when a thought strikes him and he riffles through the bunch of coupons he just groans and considers giving up. What a time to have no money!]
They have all these ways to stay places for free, but everything else...

Do you have a place in mind, kid?
no subject
No, I don't. I was just wondering.

He sighs.] Nevermind. So are you planning on staying here, or are you gonna go home?

[More like seeking ways to get out of jail, but it's true that some breathing room has helped.]
no subject
Well, while you're catching your breath... how about some food? It'll be on me.
no subject
[Seems generous, but after spending a week with Crow the generosity isn't so strange. Yuya nods. (Who knows how the food is in prison?)]
Yeah...if it's really okay.

All right. What's good to eat around here?

[He grins, gesturing towards the greater shopping district.] I'm personally biased towards this place called the Grill, but we've got plenty of options around.

[He's not picky about freely offered food.]

[Or stupid, because living with vampires has taught him to distrust any sort of red juice. The walk to the Grill is pretty short, but the shopping district disappears to give way to the main street of a small town, complete with giant clocktower. Tyler's expression softens at the sight - no matter how often he whines about it, Mystic Falls is still home.
The Grill's the building on the right, so he stops there and holds the door open for the kid.] I don't think Caroline's hired anyone yet, but I could whip something up fast.

Is the owner a friend of yours?

When the place appeared, Caroline took it over and made it her thing. I usually don't help out, beyond making sure they've got enough funds.

[Which was his original problem back in the store, come to think of it. Yuya's still broke.]
no subject
[Not that he would know from experience.]

[Usually you'd need to be at least eighteen and win Youth tournaments to make it to the pro leagues, but if they're lax on requirements maybe it's not the case in Coba.]
