entertainheir: (suddenly regretting my life choices)

(no subject)

WHO: Yuya and you!
WHERE: A store somewhere
TIME: Day 9
DESCRIPTION: Shopping is hard, especially when you're dead broke.

[One minute he's being locked into a jail cell, then when he turns around he's suddenly in an open city holding a pamphlet that definitely wasn't in his hands a minute ago. It takes some staring at the pamphlet and a little time spent making sure he's not dreaming (pinching, running around to work up a sweat, various failed attempts to scare himself, and so on) before he accepts that this is real...

And that maybe this could be an opportunity?

So it's not too long before he's hanging around the first shop he finds, checking out the hairpins and trying to look A) like he knows what in the world he's doing looking at hairpins and B) innocent, like he's not hoping to take up lock-picking based on vague memories of movies he's seen and the faint hope that any attempts at lock-picking will actually work.

It's not working very well, and when a thought strikes him and he riffles through the bunch of coupons he just groans and considers giving up. What a time to have no money!]

They have all these ways to stay places for free, but everything else...

Maybe. [He doesn't want to name her specifically yet, since he's not sure that she DOES. Also: he wouldn't know where to find her, beyond causing a scene at the hospital.]

Do you have a place in mind, kid?
lockwouldnt: (Really?)

[personal profile] lockwouldnt 2015-07-27 02:22 am (UTC)(link)
Then why'd you wanna know that? [There had to be an important reason, right? Kids don't usually wonder for the sake of wondering...

He sighs.]
Nevermind. So are you planning on staying here, or are you gonna go home?
lockwouldnt: (pointed stare)

[He raises an eyebrow, but decides against commenting on that. For now.]

Well, while you're catching your breath... how about some food? It'll be on me.
lockwouldnt: (don't really care bro)

More than okay. I've got enough for the two of us - and if I run out, I can grab some more from the ATM. [The one upside to being a trust-fund bro: money is never a concern. Ever.]

Depends on what you're in the mood for.

[He grins, gesturing towards the greater shopping district.] I'm personally biased towards this place called the Grill, but we've got plenty of options around.

Anything? [Tyler raises both eyebrows as he starts walking towards the Grill.] I don't think I'm anywhere near that brave.

[Or stupid, because living with vampires has taught him to distrust any sort of red juice. The walk to the Grill is pretty short, but the shopping district disappears to give way to the main street of a small town, complete with giant clocktower. Tyler's expression softens at the sight - no matter how often he whines about it, Mystic Falls is still home.

The Grill's the building on the right, so he stops there and holds the door open for the kid.]
I don't think Caroline's hired anyone yet, but I could whip something up fast.

Yeah. She's my best friend, actually. [No need to explain that she's also simultaneously his girlfriend and ex-girlfriend. The multiverse is sometimes a joke to him.]

When the place appeared, Caroline took it over and made it her thing. I usually don't help out, beyond making sure they've got enough funds.

It's pretty easy to get a job, though. They don't seem to have requirements for most of 'em.

[Not that he would know from experience.]
