Maybe you stayed in Coba, maybe you went home and came back, or maybe this is your first time here, but everyone is suddenly greeted to a friendly, female voice over an intercom (or maybe it's a some other device? Depending on where you're from)

"Welcome citizens. We hope you're enjoying your visit! Transport will leave in twenty minutes for the Coba city-wide tour!"

If you follow the voice, you'll find yourself at a bus stop. Or is it a fancy monorail? A carriage? A couple of horses? Coba is flexible and will change herself to suit you, after all. And if you get left behind, don't worry! There's free cabs anywhere in the city, who also will be more than happy to give you their own version of the tour.

The Coba city-wide tour boasts an hour of informative information regarding Coba's most important locations, some extra brochures (with some extra savings in there, of course), and will finally return you to the place you left from.

Of course, maybe the tour isn't for you. After all, the party is still going on, and now Coba's businesses are really beginning to open and advertise what they have to offer. Have you checked out the free hotel room? Or maybe you're grabbing a free meal? Or maybe, just maybe - you're looking into an apartment!

Either way, Coba hopes you've been enjoying yourselves. She has so much to offer you.

Oh, I've just seen the usual. Buildings, shops, the nice beach, random castles, cars turning into carriages, demons... Pretty normal town!

If I'm completely honest, though, the free amenities feel shady. Maybe it's a trap.

Oh, I meant financial trap, not physical trap. There has to be fine print to these free things that we aren't seeing. Spend one night in a hotel for free, and then five years later, bam! You'll get a bill that's been vastly inflated for interest.

That's worse than being trapped physically in some ways.

I'm a recent high school graduate who's about to go to college. I have the same response to spending money as someone else would to everything around them spontaneously combusting.

That does make sense, but I don't think this place is here to drop you into an economical nightmare.

Maybe not, but ignoring all the time and space stuff and assuming this is a normal city...

What do they have to gain from all of this? They could just be trying to boost their economy by making it a tourist attraction, but with all the free stuff they're giving out? Either the city has a ton of stockpiled funds to pay the business owners with, or the city government has imposed a set of standards that a lot of people should be unhappy about. None of the shopkeepers seem unhappy, though, so if they do have so much money, then why the need to turn this place into a tourist attraction? Also, have you read the pamphlet? That opening is creeping me out.

Or I could be overthinking it! I dunno. I'm not an economist or a politician.

Listen up, sonny: You enjoy being seventeen. Live your life to its fullest and savor every moment. When you get to be my age, it's going to be nothing but studying and despair as you stand on the precipice of adulthood.

Nah, I like my comedy to be personal and individualized. That makes it special.

Well. Depends if you know the right people. Isn't that what they pay sports and entertainment commentators for?

What you're telling me is that I need to find a rich pun-lover who doesn't have many friends and needs the hollowness of their lives filled with laughter.
