WHEN: Day 3, morning

[It's a beautiful morning in this part of Coba! The sun is shining, the birds are singing - or at least they were until a few seconds ago. Suddenly, the city is plunged into darkness again, and the streets start to fill with people dressed in outrageous costumes. There's music in the air and all traffic is stopped for the parade of revellers heading down the street. Anyone from New Orleans might find the spectacle rather familiar, but for anyone else it's still an excuse to party like the night never ended]

On your explorations?

Not really. I'm from the future.

So, what do you find on your explorations?

Alien planets and species. We're looking into uncharted space so we could find anything.

What's the most exciting thing you've found?

That's a hard one to answer.

My crew is the best damn crew in the universe.

I'm not sure. At least a century, through. I wasn't properly aware for much of it.

I'm afraid I don't have nearly as exciting a job as you do. I mostly just look after my daughter and help out the angels on a few things now and then.

. . . Angels.

That's right, the angels run things in my world. From what I've heard from others, that seems to be unusual.

Wouldn't it be the case that we're from the past, at least to you?

Depends on the timeline. I'm acquainted with alternate realities and dimensions.

Oh, yes, I'm familiar with the idea of multiple dimensions. I even immigrated from one to another. But it seems like your tech's more advanced than ours. We don't have spaceships, well, at least not ones that can travel between stars. Just to other planets nearby. At most, we have dimension-shifting and some beings who can fly in space.

That sounds pretty impressive actually.

I suppose it is! But traveling to other stars is still out of reach.
