[It's a beautiful morning in this part of Coba! The sun is shining, the birds are singing - or at least they were until a few seconds ago. Suddenly, the city is plunged into darkness again, and the streets start to fill with people dressed in outrageous costumes. There's music in the air and all traffic is stopped for the parade of revellers heading down the street. Anyone from New Orleans might find the spectacle rather familiar, but for anyone else it's still an excuse to party like the night never ended]

While I've only been alive thirty years [ -- unlike a lot of the vampires here, who have been around at least a couple of centuries -- ] I've come and gone from Mystic Falls, too. I usually tell people I left because of school, which isn't a complete lie. [she did! but mostly she left because Logan is a jerk.]

Mystic Falls is pretty small, isn't it? It makes sense to want to get out and see what the world's got to offer.

Oh yeah, definitely small. It's one of those places where it's not totally unbearable but not the best, and you do have to leave for whatever reason, especially to see what you can of the world - and then maybe wind up coming back later for whatever reason.
