WHO: You! And you, and you, and even you!
WHERE: All over Coba!
WHEN: Day 4, noon and onwards

Wherever you are, whatever you are doing, you find the scenery in front of you suddenly shifting, the world turning into a giant blur for all of a few seconds. You might feel a bit of vertigo, but nothing too serious, especially if you've been here for long enough to get used to it.

When it returns to normal, you might find that some places have moved, others have popped up in their place. An entire neighborhood blending into part of a busy city street, for example, or a foreign shopping district where some of Coba's smaller shops once stood.

Main street, where all the excitement happens, has gone over something of a change as well. There are a number of small, vendor stalls scattered down the road, all advertising something different - EDUCATION, HOUSING, EMPLOYMENT . . . and one labeled COBASPIRACIES that the other vendors seem to be shooting dirty looks at.

Er. In any case, come see what the excitement is all about, explore the new and moved locations, or grab some of the free food that has been happily placed out for anyone wandering down main street.

(There'll be a few NPC top levels, but feel free to make your own! There's also this post for if/when you decide to place a location somewhere! Have fun. ♥)

There is, mm. A few fraternities and sororities, though they're always open to expanding that, too, since it isn't a very impressive Greek life compared to other places.

[At least he's considerate enough to put it back?]

Guess I'll just have to make it even more impressive. What, are y'all like the North with their 10% participation? [Challenge accepted.]

Actually, don't answer that. I'm Tyler, by the way.

[she makes a face, but she's laughing] I'm Nora. What's wrong with 10% participation? Asking for curiosity's sake, I've been to a few colleges up north.

[He sighs, as if this were the saddest piece of news he's heard all day.]

Nothing, I guess... if you're into the whole "loner wolf" thing. Clubs are cool, but they're nowhere as close as frat brothers. [beat] If we enroll here, does it matter if we went to school elsewhere first?

Ah, so you like the family aspect of it? [she's teasing a little, but it's understanding, too]

Are you asking if they want your records, or if you can start clean?

Yeah. No one gets left behind, right? [His voice is teasing, but the sentiment is 100% genuine.]

Bit of both. I'm not sure how I'd get my Whitmore records over here, if they need those "official transcripts." [Mostly, he's asking because being enrolled in two colleges at once might be problematic.]

As for records . . . well, they can contact your former university to get your records, and everything should transfer no problem. But you can start fresh as well. [she leans forward, dropping her voice as if she's telling Tyler some huge secret] In all honesty? They'll take students however they can get them.

[He lowers his voice, though it's mostly as a courtesy to her and not because he feels any need to keep this a secret:] That just made my life easier.

Do you uh, also work there? Or is this just something they put you up to?

[she grins wide when he copies her, and decides that yes, they're going to have a "secret" conversation. Even if it isn't a secret at all] Coba tries to make things easier.

And I don't, no. I'm just helping out. [she blows out a sigh] And keeping an eye on . . . things. [ie: Robert]

[Just for that, Nora earns an eye-roll. He's complying, but he's not going to be cute about it.]

Conspiracy guy, right? I knew that couldn't be Coba-sanctioned. [Even by this city's super weird standards.]

Oh god, don't call him that, please. He'll love it. Robert is supposed to be running the transportation booth, not that monstrosity.

Could've fooled me. What deeper truth is he trying to prove? That the bus schedule's wrong?

[Because it totally is. Tyler didn't really time it, but in a city like this, it doesn't matter what the schedule is, it ends up wrong.]

If he can prove it, that's one of his more milder theories.

But bus schedules always end up wrong. They're victims of city traffic.

[In other words, Robert, there isn't anything supernatural. Not when buses are concerned.] He's like that for everything, huh?

Believe it or not, the buses here are on time more often than they aren't. That's the real conspiracy.

[she's mostly joking. She blows out a sigh, though, and crosses her arms] Everything. He isn't a man of reason.

[Huh. Tyler mulls over that for a second or two.] Go figure.

You've just gotta hope some poor sap isn't actually interested in knowing about the public transport here.

If they are and he doesn't actually give them what he's supposed to, I may have to abandon my post here.

Really? You'd abandon the kids who may be totally interested in the wonderful world of...

[Skimming the booth for flyers now! He pulls the first one he sees.] of Floral Management?

I think the kids are capable of picking up a flyer. And I wouldn't abandon it permanently - just long enough to . . . "convince" Robert to do his job properly.

I don't know, this "Floral Management" thing looks pretty complicated.

[He shoots her a grin, finally resuming normal volume.] Isn't it your job to help me understand the various programs I'd study?

It's a good thing the nice lady who runs the floral shop knows what she's doing, huh?

[she grins back, doing the same] Unless you plan on going into a scientific field, I won't be much help. I don't actually work at the university.

Like idiot down there - [she jerks a thumb at Robert] - I'm just here to hand out flyers and direct people where to go. And share what information I do know.

Well... what if I happen to be a chemistry whiz? [He's not... entirely lying. As Stefan's second-in-command, he's spent way too many hours memorizing chemical formulas. (His high school teachers didn't know what to make of it. Neither did Tyler.)] Then maybe I could get the full spiel?

[bless your heart, Tyler. She raises both eyebrows, amused]

I could give you as full a spiel as I know? Is that your planned major?

At this point, it might as well be. [Though he'd rather not say why (thank you, Stefan). His curiosity's getting the better of him, so he asks, as genuinely as possible:]

So if you don't work for the ivory tower, then where do you work? The hospital?

Good choice. No bias, of course. [she was completely biased]
