Maybe you stayed in Coba, maybe you went home and came back, or maybe this is your first time here, but everyone is suddenly greeted to a friendly, female voice over an intercom (or maybe it's a some other device? Depending on where you're from)

"Welcome citizens. We hope you're enjoying your visit! Transport will leave in twenty minutes for the Coba city-wide tour!"

If you follow the voice, you'll find yourself at a bus stop. Or is it a fancy monorail? A carriage? A couple of horses? Coba is flexible and will change herself to suit you, after all. And if you get left behind, don't worry! There's free cabs anywhere in the city, who also will be more than happy to give you their own version of the tour.

The Coba city-wide tour boasts an hour of informative information regarding Coba's most important locations, some extra brochures (with some extra savings in there, of course), and will finally return you to the place you left from.

Of course, maybe the tour isn't for you. After all, the party is still going on, and now Coba's businesses are really beginning to open and advertise what they have to offer. Have you checked out the free hotel room? Or maybe you're grabbing a free meal? Or maybe, just maybe - you're looking into an apartment!

Either way, Coba hopes you've been enjoying yourselves. She has so much to offer you.

Orias doesn't need food to live, and his summoning here had left him well sated on what he does need, but he does enjoy food for the taste. Thus, one of the places he'd decided to check out after the bus tours were the restaurants.

Is it particularly crowded with all these new arrivals, or is there just hardly anywhere to sit? Either way, he finds himself standing in front of a table with two seats, one already occupied by a young man.

"Excuse me, may I sit down here?"

Don't mind the horns. And the tail. And the fact that he's not wearing a shirt.

Kanji barely glances at the other guy's lack of shirt (say what you will about Atia, but it's great for getting you over clothing hang-ups); the horns get a raised eyebrow, though.

He shrugs. "Go for it."

That might be the only possible good thing to come out of such a place. Orias would hate it with a passion.

"Thank you." He pulls out a chair and sets down his cup of tea and sandwich. "Are you new here as well?"

"Yeah. Still tryin' to find my bearings, but it's better than the last place."

Most things would be, though.

"The last place? It must be bad if a city you know hardly anything about is better."

He takes a sip of his tea. Not bad. It has good tea going for it, at least.

"Kidnapped by a sadistic goddess who expected people t'bang every other week and enforced it by chokin' you to death if you didn't? Yeah, I'd call that worse."

It was never that aspect of Atia that he liked. What he liked was how the whole timeline confusion thing got him better versions of his friends.

And now he's the one to almost choke on his tea. Thankfully he doesn't spit it out - he'd recently found out that having hot tea spit in your face is unpleasant.

Once he's done coughing and manages to clear his throat: "That's awful! What kind of goddess would do such a thing?"

...oops? Still, it could've been worse. He could've jumped right to 'Fuck Or Die Island.' (He didn't want to go there right out of the gate, though.)

"Not the kind we got back home, that's for damn sure."

"You can't even get any energy out of that. It's completely pointless, pure torture for the sake of torture."

Shock has given way to being mad as hell, as the saying goes.

"Well, she sure seemed to manage just fine with it." Somehow. And the less said about April, the better.

"How d'you figure that, though?"

"I'm an incubus." This seems to be a very blunt kind of conversation. "If anyone knows anything about getting nourishment from sex, it ought to be me. And incubi and succubi only get nourishment from positive sexual energy - negative experiences do absolutely nothing for us."

"...Yeah, okay, I'll give ya that one. I mean, you'd think a sex goddess would know what's what too, but it's also possible Atia's just a sadistic bitch." Does he feel bad about saying that, especially now that he's not there? Not even a little.

~~He has better hair, for once thing.~~

"Most likely. And you were trapped in a place run by someone like that? That's terrible, I'm sorry."

~~And presumably not a stripey dick of impressive length, but Kanji won't be asking.~~

Kanji shrugs. "Wasn't all bad. Nobody expected me to go to school, and most'a my friends were there. The whole 'fuck or die' part got old after a while, though."

~~Well don't write off the 'impressive length' part just yet. Stripes are out, though.~~

"Still... I don't like the idea of that place existing at all, much less no one having done anything about it."

~~Still not asking. He's got his hands full with his friends.~~

"We were tryin' to get something together, but it was hard to make any decent kinda headway. And that was with the last goddess we took on on our side this time. Apparently most times anyone tried they got choked to death immediately for their trouble."

~~Completely understandable. You all have fun.~~

"I'm sorry to hear that. In that case, I sincerely hope that you can stay here for some time."

"Takin' the fact that the damn collar's gone as a good start." Not that he knows what'll happen if he tries to go home, but... that much is promising, anyway.

"Name's Kanji, by the way."

"Orias. Despite the odd circumstances, it's a pleasure to meet you." He takes another sip of tea, this time hoping not to choke on it from sudden unpleasant revelations.

"You too."

Don't worry, he really only had the one super unpleasant thing.

One unpleasant thing is enough.

"So, I've been asking around a fair amount, but what sort of place do you usually see here? I've gathered that everyone sees different things at different times."

"Shopping district from back home. Without the asshole who calls me a punk all the time, which is good, or my ma, which... 's weird not seein' her in the shop, you know?"

It's good to have some familiar scenery. But... profoundly weird not to have his mother around.

"I see..." He can't say he completely understands - demons don't usually have family units. But he knows what it's like to have familiar faces in one place, and not seeing them there would be strange. "So, it's something of a mixed blessing."

"Pretty much. Ma ain't supposed to be gone yet."

It's bad enough that his dad is.

"I'm sorry. If I were better at making portals to places I hadn't gone myself, I would offer, but as it is I'm not sure it would be entirely safe."

And he's definitely not offering something that he doesn't know is 100% safe.
