Maybe you stayed in Coba, maybe you went home and came back, or maybe this is your first time here, but everyone is suddenly greeted to a friendly, female voice over an intercom (or maybe it's a some other device? Depending on where you're from)

"Welcome citizens. We hope you're enjoying your visit! Transport will leave in twenty minutes for the Coba city-wide tour!"

If you follow the voice, you'll find yourself at a bus stop. Or is it a fancy monorail? A carriage? A couple of horses? Coba is flexible and will change herself to suit you, after all. And if you get left behind, don't worry! There's free cabs anywhere in the city, who also will be more than happy to give you their own version of the tour.

The Coba city-wide tour boasts an hour of informative information regarding Coba's most important locations, some extra brochures (with some extra savings in there, of course), and will finally return you to the place you left from.

Of course, maybe the tour isn't for you. After all, the party is still going on, and now Coba's businesses are really beginning to open and advertise what they have to offer. Have you checked out the free hotel room? Or maybe you're grabbing a free meal? Or maybe, just maybe - you're looking into an apartment!

Either way, Coba hopes you've been enjoying yourselves. She has so much to offer you.

"So what was yours, if whatever I haven't hit yet wasn't your first round with Shadow crap?"

It can't have involved the TV world, Kanji knows that much already. Teddie wouldn't have been so wowed by Souji if he'd met other humans before.

"It was back in 2010," Yukari began. Kanji didn't really need the full details, and after already having explained most of this to Naoto, she didn't really want to go through it again. "Do you remember Apathy Syndrome? That was... well, that was because of the Shadows that were around Port Island back then."

Apathy Syndrome doesn't really ring a bell - this is Kanji, he didn't pay much attention to the news in middle school. Or until he got mixed up in the Inaba case, really, and that was because it was their best shot at finding the next victim.

There is one thing that makes him frown, though. "Shadows in Port Island? How the hell'd they get outta their world, though?"

Well, you have her father and the Kirijo group to blame for that, but those details were probably a bit too deep for it to be worth mentioning. Especially since it'd make even more awkward questions.

"Some people got a bit too carried away with seeing what they could do with the Shadows, and things got pretty bad for a while. There used to be a time called the Dark Hour when the Shadows could appear, but it's gone now, so that's not something we usually have to worry about anymore. Except for the odd cases where we do, obviously."

Yukari paused for a moment though, before shaking her head. "But... the TV world's existence did answer a few questions that I had back when that was all going on."

...wait a sec. Shadows on Port Island.

Is that why Naoto thought infiltrating the Kirijo Group was a good idea? It'd explain a lot, but that's not something worth bringing up right now, not really. Ain't like Naoto got more than shot at anyway.

"Yeah? Like what?"

Yukari sighed. "Well, part of the experiment that caused the issue I had to deal with involved gathering a lot of Shadows. But... at the time as far as we knew the Shadows only existed during the Dark Hour, so I always wondered where they had gotten enough of them to even do anything that caused a problem in the first place. The TV world answered that question, or at least that there might be another place like it where they could've gotten them from, I guess."

"Another place like it, probably. If Souji hadn't been the first human Teddie met, I don't think he woulda been so bowled over."

And as much as Ted hangs off of Souji... well.

Yukari blinked, before the meaning of that hit her. "I guess, but it was a long time ago," she said. "I mean, it was around twelve years ago when that experiment happened. Maybe Teddie just wasn't around back then?"

It's not like Shadows were around forever, after all.

Kanji shrugs. "Who knows? Ain't like Teddie's real clear on how old he is."

He's just glad Ted never ended up on Atia. Even if he's not a year old himself, his understanding of the world certainly is.

Yukari nodded. "And it's not like the way they look makes sense for their age either," she said, frowning as she remembered Ryoji. "He's not the first shadow that could take human form that I've met before." She added, realizing that that little bit of context might just be a bit important.

"...Really? Huh. You'd think one was weird enough."

Interesting.

"Yeah, you'd think, but apparently it's more common than it sounds."

But at least the real Teddie didn't exist to summon something that'd kill everyone. That helped with things a lot, didn't it?

"Hopefully not that common. Teddie's a handful by himself."

There is that, yeah.

"Anyway, uh, don't think I caught your name, and I doubt you wanna be called Feather Pink-san."

Yukari giggled at that. "Yeah. I kinda noticed that... and don't worry. So far I think it's only happened two times. Three at most."

Which was still more common than it should be, though she wasn't completely sure if Metis actually counted since Aigis could still use her Persona. And Metis could use a Persona. And things were just totally weird back then, so not thinking about that now.

"Oh. Yeah. That's... kinda important. I'm Yukari. Yukari Takeba."

"Good t'meet you. Again, or something."

Fuckin' timelines, how do they work.

"Thanks. It's nice to meet you again too," she said, smiling just a little bit before she turned her head to look around a bit more. "I mean, we didn't really get much of a chance to talk last time. Considering, you know, why I was even there in the first place."

"So... just how accurate is this place to the real thing anyway?" She asked after a few more moments. "I mean, it looks pretty close to me, but again, I didn't really have time for sightseeing when I was in Inaba. Are all the stores here the same, or are there any differences?"

"Yeah, Shadows don't leave a lotta time for just talking." And she probably wanted to go home pretty quick after that.

"It's... pretty accurate, give or take the people. Ma's not here, that's just weird. But I'll take doin' without the asshole who hangs out by the shrine and calls me a degenerate punk all the damn time. Otherwise, so far it looks like the same stuff that's closed back home is closed here, but who knows how long that'll last."

It's a new place. Someone might see a storefront and decide to make something of it. Or the city might decide a closed shop needs something made of it. (It already has, actually, but Kanji hasn't... examined the empty building on the other side of the textile shop too closely yet.)

"Especially when we had a deadline of about an hour to stop then," Yukari said. Which had been horrible to worry about, considering just everything that had been going on. She's still a bit surprised that they had managed to actually stop it in time.

She looks around after Kanji finishes his explanation, and then frowns when she notices something. It sure looked like there were a lot of closed places here. Considering she had only really been around the shopping district of Inaba during the night, she hadn't really noticed it then, but...

"I see. I'm guessing that Junes coming in wasn't really a good thing for this place..."

"An hour? Shit. We at least got a little longer than that - usually a couple weeks before the final deadline. Doin' stuff took up the whole afternoon, though." And usually left him too wiped to do anything else.

Yukari's last comment makes him scowl a bit. "It really wasn't. And then all anyone did was bitch about how the shopping district was disappearin' instead of, you know. Coming back to it. Lazy dicks."

His family's shop's been okay. Junes can't really do handmade textile stuff, and they haven't really struggled since right after his dad died - people finally take his ma seriously as a business owner. But not nearly everyone's been so lucky.

"Yeah. The thing behind the whole situation was big on emulating the way it was set up back during the incident on Port Island. There was only an hour each night when the Shadows were around."

She nodded at that mention of the shopping district though. "I... yeah. That sure sounds like, well, anyone in general, really. Complaining about something, but dont' do anything about it because the other option is more convenient."

Huh. That'll be something to keep in mind for later.

"Things're looking up a little, now, but I don't think it's gonna be what it was any time soon." Still, at least it hasn't completely died.

Assuming that you even remembered, anyway.

"That's good," Yukari said. It did make sense, since... well, there had to be things that Junes couldn't do well. It was just something that needed to be figured out, that's all. "For what it's worth, I hope it keeps getting better."

He's smarter than he gives himself credit for, and this isn't the first time he's been presented with 'something weird's going to happen after you get home.' It'll probably take a while, since he has to catch up to Naoto first, but... well. This is gonna stick.

"I think it will. Junes's also been talkin' about starting a local-goods section, which would help a lot." And for some damn reason his ma doesn't want him to make a sign for it, whenever it does happen.

"Really? That's... kinda surprising. I mean, I get that the people working there might want to support that, but you'd figure that it'd be a bit difficult to get the heads of the company to be willing to do something like that."

Still, if it's something that'd happen, all the better, right?

Kanji shrugs. "Far as I know, they're still hammerin' out the details. But even Junes can't do everything. Love to see them try t'sell our stuff, it'd be a mess."

(Actually, he wouldn't like to see that, because then he'd have to worry about them doing it well. But that's beside the point.)
