[It's a beautiful morning in this part of Coba! The sun is shining, the birds are singing - or at least they were until a few seconds ago. Suddenly, the city is plunged into darkness again, and the streets start to fill with people dressed in outrageous costumes. There's music in the air and all traffic is stopped for the parade of revellers heading down the street. Anyone from New Orleans might find the spectacle rather familiar, but for anyone else it's still an excuse to party like the night never ended]

First thing in the morning, even - or night now, I guess. This place knows how to throw a celebration.

So it does. I do wonder whose influence this is.

[he takes a look around, eyebrows going up when he sees a few familiar faces in the crowd]

Not my fault! But I can take a few guesses.

There's a couple of folks here from New Orleans. It's alllll them.

How are you so certain?

[bloodymess]

Been to Mardi Gras myself a few times. [he gestures to the floats and all that] This is the kind of party you don't forget.

[trickor]

It does seem rather...unforgettable.

[ though it's a mystery as to whether loki considers that good or bad. ]

[bloodymess]

It's only forgettable if you want it to be. Or if you drink enough.

Not that you would want to, it's a great party.

[trickor]

A "great party" tends to be a matter of opinion, I find.

[bloodymess]

Says the guy who's obviously never been to Mardi Gras.

Parties are not an anomaly, where I'm from. I need not have attended Mardi Gras to have experienced such festivities.

And a nice trick, with the antidawn. I suppose that's some evidence that this place isn't natural.

Surely that couldn't have been your first clue.

Decidedly not.

Did you find some unexpected reminder of home?

[prefers_magneto]

Not yet.

[It would probably be more likely if he had a home to speak of.]

I've heard of it happening, though.

[trickor]

It is an...interesting phenomenon, to be sure.

How do you think it works? Telepathy?

[trickor]

Of a sort. I cannot tell if it is some form of magic actively seeking out things in our memories, or if it is passively accepting changes that we are unconsciously imposing upon it.

[prefers_magneto]

It would still have to be connected to our minds to accept changes we make unconsciously.

[trickor]

Which, you must admit, is an irritating thought.

[prefers_magneto]

I don't know how I got here. They connected, it would seem, before I arrived.
